Welcome to the Castlepollard Town Team

We are a volunteer group made up of people from across our community – local residents, businesses, community organisations and clubs – all working together to support the future of our town and surrounding areas. Since forming in 2024, the Town Team has been actively involved in shaping the future of Castlepollard through the Town Centre First plan, working with the community and Westmeath County Council to identify projects that will improve our town for everyone. These include plans to rejuvenate the town square, improve walking routes and accessibility, enhance local heritage sites such as the Market House, Killafree Church and graveyard, and develop new biodiversity and heritage loop walks around the town. We have also organised and supported community engagement events where residents can share ideas about the town, including walkability studies that examined footpaths, infrastructure, accessibility and how to make the town centre more welcoming and easier to navigate. The Town Team is also involved in bringing people together through arts and events, community initiatives such as the Castlepollard May Festival, which celebrates local music, art, heritage and culture in the heart of the town. Our aim is simple - to work with the community and within the community to make Castlepollard an even better place to live, work and visit.
